Imagine Dwayne Johnson hosting the Oscars. It would be epic. And we are not the only one who thinks that. A fan on Twitter asked Dwayne why he isn’t hosting the upcoming Academy Awards. And Johnson answered to the fan.
He said that he was the first choice to host the show this year and that he wanted to do it so bad. He also said that he wanted to make it the most entertaining Oscars ever. But unfortunately, Dwayne is currently filming ‘Jumanji’ and he can’t handle the movie shooting and the Academy Awards hosting. And he hopes that there will be another chance for him to host the Oscars.
This was all because of the official confirmation that the 91st Academy Awards are the first in 30 years to not have an emcee. Instead of an emcee, there will be many celebrities that are going to introduce the show’s different segments. There won’t be those traditional monologue-filled openings.
Kevin Hart was also one of the possible hosts for the Oscars, but he was forced to step down from the host position because he had many homophobic tweets recently that got many people angry.
The Academy Awards are going to air live on February 24, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on ABC.
