Due to the coronavirus outbreak, experts advise us to stay indoors, and in some cases, going outside has become illegal. Since we’re in quarantine, we have a lot of free time, and what better way to spend it than watching movies and TV series.
Perhaps this is the time to revise some conceptions on what a pandemic looks like which might prepare us for what’s coming. Of course, you should skip these movies if the horrific consequences of a deadly virus disturb you.

Outbreak is an exciting tale of fighting a virus from Africa, similar to Ebola. The pandemic started in America as a result of a monkey smuggling from Zaire, and the epicenter of the outbreak became a small town in California. The military and the best epidemiologists were appointed to stop the spread of the virus and to save the country – and maybe the entire world from this catastrophic pandemic.

28 Days Later…

28 Days Later is a postapocalyptic story of survival in the midst of a virus pandemic which causes rampant aggression. The movie was produced by Danny Boyle, and the cast consists of Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris and Cristopher Eccleston.

In this movie, Brad Pitt plays the role of Gerry Lane, an ex-UN investigator who is given the task of finding the source of the virus which turns people into zombies. World War Z is an adaptation of the book written by Max Brooks.

The Andromeda Strain
This is a science fiction movie about a group of scientists who are trying to uncover what caused the deaths of the entire population of Piedmont, a small town in New Mexico. They suspect it was a microorganism from space which arrived to the Earth along with a satellite from a recently completed space mission.
