Hollywood heavy-hitters Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are all headed back to the mysterious video game jungle world this winter. Sony revealed the first look at the successful sequel to their 2017 blockbuster “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.”
In the newest adventure, the familiar gang returns to the world of Jumanji, but the video game world is vastly different. The twist is that the grandfathers of two original players, played by legends Danny DeVito and Danny Glover, get transported into the game and become the in-game avatars of Johnson and Hart. The newbies must battle the elements to escape the many dangers which lurk at every corner and save Jumanji once again.
Rhys Darby, who plays one of the players, says the following: “This next adventure is even more challenging, and remember the future of Jumanji is in your hands.”
The confused character of Johnson asks, “I have one important question, who is Jumanji?” adding to the overall suspense and confusion. Hart’s avatar keeps it going with, “Is that Barbara’s boy?”
Jake Kasdan directs again, and he is the co-writer alongside with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Awkwafina, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover join the cast from the original, and the movie is produced by Jake Kasdan, Matt Tolmach, Johnson, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia.
“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” is based on the famous 1995 film starring Robin Williams. It was a successful movie and a huge box office smash, accumulating $962 around the world. The long-awaited action-packed sequel arrives into theaters on December 13 this year.
