The Lord of the Rings (2001)
The One Ring by Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmith
The ring was made from 18K gold by New Zealand jewelers Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmith. In total, 15 almost identical rings were involved in the filming; the only difference was in size and weight.
The magical ring of absolute power from the Tolkien book has a rather simplistic design. Who would have thought that in contrast to some fearsome skull men’s rings, such a powerful ring would be so simple? Nevertheless, this item has gained a cult status. In the real world it does not contain dark power and is not forged by Sauron on Mount Orodruin, but it is a stylish gold jewel, the distinction of Tolkienists, and even more often it is a stylized wedding ring.
