The Scientists Discovered the Key Symptom of Coronavirus

A team at King’s College London looked at responses from over 400,000 people reporting suspected Covid-19 symptoms to an app, and they discovered that the most common symptom of coronavirus is the loss of smell.

According to the study, the loss of smell was noticed among almost 60% of patients who were tested positive.

Professor Claire Hopkins, president of the British Rhinological Society, and Professor Nirmal Kumar, president of ENT UK, said: “We think these patients might be some of the hitherto hidden carriers that have facilitated the rapid spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, these patients do not meet current criteria for testing or self-isolation.”

Because of this, the scientists concluded that this symptom might be a better indicator than fever.

Besides, experts also warn the public to pay attention to their eyes since irritations can be caused by the coronavirus.

Coronavirus: Scientists say Beaches are Dangerous and that we Must Stay out of the Water

The coronavirus could be even more contagious and dangerous than we assume, and one scientist warned us that a super-risky place to be is near the ocean, at least the Pacific Ocean.

Kim Prather, an atmospheric chemist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, believes that coronavirus could enter the Pacific and then transfer back into the air along the California coast and infect anyone surfing, swimming, or simply taking a walk on the beach.

Kim, who lives in San Diego, said: “I wouldn’t go in the water if you paid me $1 million right now.”

According to her research, she found out the ocean contains all kinds of pathogens and continuously sprays these particles into the air.

The scary part is that coronavirus is light enough to float through the air.

In translation, social distancing does not work with the ocean.

She drives the point home by adding: “It’s not going to kill you if you miss a few surfing sessions, but it could if you go out there and get in the wrong air.”

Her warning comes as the world’s scientists are trying to determine if coronavirus could spread by more than only sneezes and coughs.

Even Dr. Fauci’s publicly hinted that the virus could be more airborne than we initially thought. Because of that, it is essential to cover our faces.

In addition, beaches around the country are closing to keep people from gathering in big groups and possibly infecting each other.

Clearly, Kim Prather suggests that going to the beach should not be allowed for anyone.

The Origin of Coronavirus – REVEALED

As the new coronavirus which causes the disease Covid-19 continues to infect the global population with the number of confirmed cases being over 350.000, there is also a lot of misinformation being spread around as well.

One theory was that the virus was made by scientists in Wuhan, and that it broke out causing a global pandemic. This is highly improbable.

Experts in the field of microbiology have observed the genetic template of the spikes from the surface of the new coronavirus, which the virus uses to attach to the external cell walls of its host and afterwards enter those cells. Scientists have examined the gene sequences responsible for the two key attributes of these spikes: their method of hooking to the host and entering the cell.

The analysis has shown that the part of the spike called “the hook” has developed to target the receptors from human cells called ACE2. The virus proved to be highly capable of hooking up to the human cells that the scientists have concluded the origin of the spike proteins in SARS-KoV-2 to be a result of natural selection, not genetical engineering.

Scientists have researched the connection between SARS-KoV and SARS-KoV-2. Through data gathering, we can see that the computer simulations of SARS-KoV-2 mutations show low capabilities of the virus connecting to the human cells. From there on we can conclude that the new coronavirus isn’t man-made. If a person decided to create a deadly virus, they wouldn’t choose one with such poor abilities to latch onto a host. However, nature proved to be smarter than the scientists, going against all odds and making the virus completely different than anything scientists could’ve made.

Another evidence that suggests SARS-KoV-2 wasn’t made in a lab is its molecular structure, which discerns from other known coronaviruses. It mostly resembles viruses found in bats and crustaceans, which were considered to be low-risk for humans due to their unexplored properties.

How did SARS-KoV-2 become a threat to humanity? There are a few theories. The first one is that we got it directly from an infected animal, as was the case with both SARS and MERS. In this case, the animal was probably either a bat or a crustacean. Another theory is that the virus mutated to its current pathogen structure after the virus was transferred to humans.

If the first theory is true, it could mean bad news because the virus could return causing another outbreak, but if it has to be present in humans to mutate the probability of it happening is significantly lower.

Scientist Finally Figure Out Why Coffee Makes You Poop

All you coffee lovers are already aware of the benefits of coffee. A cup of coffee in the morning will play an important in kick-starting the day. Also, it will help you to boost the morning every day. But that’s not the only reason you need coffee. A cup of coffee each morning can help you poop. All of us are aware of the laxative benefits of coffee. But why does it happen?

Well, to understand the reason behind it, according to espressogurus, a lot of scientists dived into thorough research about it. As a result, they experimented on lab rats with some coffee. The results were introduced during Digestive Disease Week. It showed that caffeine coffee has nothing to do with making you poop sooner. Instead, coffee contributes towards killing the harmful gut bacteria and promoting better health.

The researches of the University of Texas Medical Branch of Galveston carried out their study by giving the tiny rats tiny cups of joe for three days. They were divided into two groups: caffeinated and decaf. After the three days, the rats were physically examined to show the muscle contraction and how food is guided down the gut. The research also showed how the muscle tissues in the gut reacted when coffee moves through it. The results were clear as it showed that the muscles of small and large intestine get contracted when coffee moves past it, thereby promoting faster movement along the gut.

The leading author of the study, Xuan-Zheng Shi, said in an interview that coffee helps to improve gut motility and is not related to caffeine. It has a similar impact on decaf coffee. This isn’t the first study as a similar one was shown in 1990, for people who claimed to be coffee-poopers. The study showed that it helped to improve the movement of coffee around the colon.

The recent study showed the impact in case of decaf coffee, but the previous one from 1990, the researchers concluded that coffee acts indirectly through the stomach and intestine to reach the colon. Only 30 percent of people feel the need to poop after drinking coffee.

The team of researchers also examined the nature of poop. People who drank coffee had lesser bacteria in their poop than the ones who didn’t. The poop was further dunked in a strong coffee solution that resulted in stunted growth of bacteria. Decaffeinated coffee has created similar results.

Shi concluded that coffee could prove to be an effective antibacterial agent. Decaffeinated coffee has the same effect. Thus, it can as well be said that coffee has a positive impact on the gut microbiome. Coffee helps the gut microbiome to remove all the harmful bacteria, thereby promoting good health. Researches have also shown that coffee can help to improve colon health, thereby lowering the risk of colon cancer.

Gut bacteria have an important role in making you poop after coffee. But that isn’t the only thing that contributes to easy pooping. There is a lot of working in it, each having some impact or the other. As a result, it is necessary to keep a check with it. Further researches are to be done to explain the entire process.
