Will Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson take the role as US President?

Dwayne Johnson, a megastar actor known also as The Rock, organized a secret ceremony in Hawaii last Sunday.

He published this happy news on his Instagram profile where he has more than 154million followers. Dwayne posted a picture of him and his wife and wrote “We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pomaika’i (blessed).”

Some sources say that he is a  potential US president. This famous actor and wrestler is now married to  Lauren Hashian, a 34-year-old beautiful singer and songwriter. Together they have two children, Jasmine, and baby Tiana. This marriage is the cherry on top of their happy family life.

Dwayne Johnson is the second highest-earning man in Hollywood, right after George Clooney. He was noticed by many movie producers as a great man for performance and showing off his strength.

“He is as close to guaranteeing you butts in the seats as anybody can be,” said Ron Meyer, the chairman from NBC Universal. His movies have earned over 8.2billion dollars so far, which is why he is one of the highest-grossing box office stars that has ever existed.

Johnson almost refused to post about his movies on social media, which means he nearly gave up on an additional seven-figure salary. His fans like to call him “Beyonce for blokes”. This famous movie star has millions of devoted fans worldwide, which is something movie studios like a lot.

His name was never connected to drugs, affairs, scandals, conspiracies which is why he has a good reputation. Dwayne now lives his dreams as a self-made millionaire who is respected in the White House.

During The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017 Dwayne said that he was “seriously considering” running for president of USA. After that show many people supported him, and then he said: “I can tell you with all honesty that the consideration comes at the desire from a large number of people that would like to see this happen.”

He confirmed he had met with various political experts, such as  Republicans, Democrats, independents, many strategists, and others. “Let me go to work and learn,” Dwayne added.

His 2019. net worth is about £136million. Although he had a chaotic childhood because of his father’s wrestling career, he managed to become very successful.

His father, Rocky Johnson, was a member of the first black tag champion team in 1977. Dwayne’s mother Ata’s parents were also involved in wrestling.

He grew up as a poor child and they all lived in a one-room apartment.

“I know what it’s like to earn a dollar. I know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck and wonder how you’re going to pay the rent. I know what it’s like to be evicted. Money doesn’t fall out of the sky,” Dwayne said. He also added that his mother tried to commit suicide in front of him when he was a teenager.

“She got out of the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic. Big rigs and cars were swerving out of the way. I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road. What’s crazy is that she has no recollection of it whatsoever. Probably best she doesn’t. We both healed but we’ve always got to do our best to pay attention when other people are in pain. We have to help them through it and remind them they are not alone,” he said.

Dwayne Johnson wasn’t always a nice guy. When he was very young he was known as a trash-talking and rude person. That changed quickly and wrestling star Hulk Hogan named him the “biggest superstar in the business”.

Dwayne’s first movie role was in the 2001 sequel called The Mummy Returns. He got noticed due to his success in the ring. He appeared in the film for only a couple of minutes, but amazed the public so much he later got a spin-off prequel of his own titled The Scorpion King.

He has the talent to get noticed by big-budget franchises, which is why he started to work on The Fast And The Furious project in 2011. That year this movie had a highest-grossing opening that had ever been made.

The Rock has since appeared in a couple of their movies, including the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw. He also got in a decade-long feud with his co-worker, actor Vin Diesel.

He criticized Vin’s unprofessional behavior during the making of the eighth movie on social media.

Dwayne said in an interview: “Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach movie-making and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity, whether we work together again or not. I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill-will there, just because of the clarity we have.”

“Actually, you can erase that last part about ‘no ill will’. We’ll just keep it with the clarity,” the actor added.

In 2007 Dwayne divorced with his ex-wife Dany Garcia, after ten years of their marriage. Soon after that, he began dating Lauren. Dwayne and Dany Garcia have an 18-year-old daughter Simone.

He now lives a happy life surrounded by his new family and millions of dollars. He enjoys being famous and respected by the American public.

Can Fast and Furious Be a Hit Without The Rock?

Many people considered ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ to be boring, probably because there is no much interest in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise after the seventh installment. ‘Fast and Furious 8’ was released only two days before ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ and much to people’s surprise, it was better in many ways.

Besides the fact that ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ promised to become another classic buddy cop movie, it didn’t keep its promise. Instead, it looked like the main characters, Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson were trying too hard to be funny and interesting. Moreover, the fight scene didn’t amaze many viewers, and the action looked very boring. Consequently, the opening weekend numbers were very tame, and it made roughly $60m. However, that’s not what is expected from a $200m movie.

So, the ‘Fast and Furious’ fans were left wondering where does the franchise go from here. Many people have stated that the movie started their downfall the moment they began working to surpass their own ridiculous stunts. Even though the spin-off of the franchise did their best to enhance the plot of the movie, it doesn’t seem to be very successful.

It looks like we’ve seen it all from the franchise, including planes, tanks, and supercars through skyscrapers. The franchise doesn’t have anything new to offer, besides the crazy stunts, they’re trying to pull off. So, this led fans to believe that the series won’t last much longer. The fact that neither the Rock nor Statham will be part of Fast 9 only adds to this belief. However, many fans hope that ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ has the potential of becoming a very successful independent movie franchise.

The Rock is held responsible for revitalizing the franchise, and it’s believed that this is the reason why he doesn’t get on well with Vin Diesel. This raised many questions, such as whether the franchise can be a hit without the Rock and whether or not the ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ spinoff can survive without the ‘Family’?

In a nutshell, the fact that Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham aren’t part of the main Fast series seems to have negative consequences for both franchises.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Deletes Tweet Endorsing Boris Johnson

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, retweeted on Sunday his interview with Good Morning Britain in which the actor was asked about Britain’s new Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He jokingly added, “He’s family!” referencing to his matching the last name with the controversial political figure. “You don’t know that… but now all of Britain knows. Yeah, He’s my cousin. It’s like looking in the mirror. Every time I see Boris!”

While being on the morning talk show, Johnson was promoting his upcoming film Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw, and on TV, it is obvious that he’s completely joking about being related to the new British PM, who recently came to power after Theresa May stepped down. The 47-year-old star of Moana was laughing hysterically, and so was the show’s host. It was all in good fun.

However, after that, The Rock retweeted the clip and added his own message which seemed to endorse Boris, users on Twitter were quickly concerned. Even though the tweet remained for less than 15 minutes before being deleted, seeing that one of the biggest action movie stars in the world aligned himself with Boris left many in awe.

The thing that certainly didn’t help was that on that same evening, Last Week Tonight returned from its summer hiatus on HBO, and the host John Oliver heavily criticized the Boris in his main segment, and compared him to President Donald Trump. “Unfortunately, the U.K. is about to be completely f***ed,” Oliver said. “Given that Britain’s new leader is a clownish figure with silly hair and a passing relationship with the truth, you may already be thinking of the person you’re almost always thinking about anyway.”

In the message that was quickly deleted, Johnson wrote, “BREAKING: PM Boris Johnson is, in fact, my cousin (though we clearly look more like twins.” — And he should have stopped there. But he added, “Jokes aside, PM did say something in his speech I liked- ‘the people are our bosses. 100% agree. The people/audience/consumer will always matter most. #ourboss”

After the message that was deleted, Johnson quickly came out with an apology. On the edited tweet The Rock wrote, “Well according to the people, maybe we’re not related after all – Big mahalo to my people who I can always rely on to give me the real talk and swift perspective & education on the individual I did not know – Tequila on me, Britain.”

The Responses on Twitter Varied From Alarmist to Playful

Users on Twitter responded differently to Johnson’s PR disaster. While at first, most of his 13.6 million followers were amazed that he would be so kind to such a polarizing political figure, one user begged, “Please don’t normalize Boris,” while others, after the apology, joined in on the laugh. Some even used Johnson’s popular GIF to react.

Epic Car Crashes in ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’

The Fast & Furious spinoff ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ is soon to be released, and we are all looking forward to its release date. However, if you don’t know what to expect from the latest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, there is one thing for certain you can expect epic car chases.

The promotional campaign for the 2019 American action film is going strong, and there have been some very action-packed trailers. These trailers and clips have shown some insights into the movie. Hence, we decided to take a closer look at some of the crazy car chases we’ve seen in the clips. The clips have been a great teaser and have given some extended promo of the car chase sequences.

The first clip features McLaren 720S which rushes through the narrow London streets. The two-seat supercar accommodated Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Vanessa Kirby in it. The scene is enhanced by a futuristic motorcycle ridden by Brixton Lore, the villain played by Idris Elba. The action seems very intense and vigorous, but the scene doesn’t go without a comic part as Hobbs and Shaw can be seen arguing with each other.
Moreover, in the stunt Shaw can be seen driving the McLaren 720S under two semi-trucks. This scene is a homage to a similar stunt in the first film of the Fast & Furious franchise. Then, Brixton follows and climbs off the moving motorcycle which pulls him under the two trucks.

Furthermore, there is a second clip which again features Brixton chasing Hobbs and Shaw. However, in this scene, Shaw is driving a modified buggy while Hobbs is behind the wheel of a custom flatbed truck. Moreover, there has been a recent trailer which featured a scene of modified hot rods chased by a rocket-firing helicopter.

These trailers and clips show that the new Fast & Furious movie will come with plenty of action and epic car chases. The initial release of the ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’ is on August 2. The movie is directed by David Leitch, who is also behind Deadpool 2. The producers include Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Chris Morgan, and Hiram Garcia.

Is Dwayne The Rock Johnson Going To Be New Superman?

Hobbs & Shaw trailer shows Idris Elba’s villain calling himself Black Superman. Elba’s co-star Dwayne Johnson considers that comment is significant and is affected at a personal level. He told Variety’s reporter: „Maybe someday, we will see a black Superman. You’re looking at him.“

No one knows for sure whether The Rock thought of himself as the next Superman. Truth to be told he does have a habit of promoting his „super“ personality. Since some fans believe he could be the next Superman, let’s see how would that look like.

The Rock Is By All Odds A Star

Johnson is one of the few people for who we can say had a successful transition from pro wrestler to a famous actor. And now he truly is a movie star.

Here is why Johnson refers to himself as black. He was born in Hayward California to a Samoan mother and a Canadian father who has black Nova Scotian descent.

In 1996, Johnson joined WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Thanks to his physique and charisma, audiences were won over. In 2001, he landed his first film role, in The Mummy Returns, and also in The Scorpion King. The debut wasn’t really promising, but that didn’t stop Johnson from getting new roles. In 2003, he starred in The Rundown, which landed him his first-star vehicle. This is especially interesting because it was a handover from the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger.

As time passed, he was getting more and more roles in movies that were hit, except for some unsatisfactory films including Pain and Gain, and Baywatch. The four of The Fast And Furious movies in which he starred, went on to gross $3 billion in the U.S. and $9 billion worldwide. It is believed that his appearances in the movies had a lot to do with that income. If we’re about to talk in terms of box office clout, Johnson is already Superman.

The Reasons Why The Rock Wouldn’t Be Good For Superman

The superhero part of the role could easily be pulled off by Johnson without a doubt. His body physique is also a big plus for that role. When it comes to the screen presence, it is for sure that his and some other actor’s who played Superman can’t be measured.
But let’s talk about Clark Kent and how he would be presented by The Rock.

Christopher Reeve was one of the actors who played Superman, and it is certain that he got Clark Kent right, which is one of the reasons he succeeded so much in the role. If you don’t agree, just look at the scene in the 1978 Superman when he considers telling Lois Lane his secret. Some believe that even though Johnson is talented, he couldn’t be able to get the role of an awkward worker.

There is also a possibility that the character is rewritten to suit Johnson’s personality, or even that Clark Kent is avoided completely, by Superman not having a secret identity.
Henry Cavill, the person who played the latest Superman, didn’t have many scenes as Clark Kent.

Established roles increasingly experience some changes, including the possibility of Elba portraying James Bond, or Lashana Lynch playing female 007.

In the interview with Variety, Johnson said that more non-traditional roles would happen „as everything builds and grows, (and) you take the temperament of what’s happening in society … especially with franchises and characters and publicly traded companies who are sensitive to that kind of thing.“

Dwayne Johnson Lives in a Home full of Women and He Says ’It is Awesome’

The famous actor and ex-wrestler have three daughters: Tiana Gia (14 months old), Jasmine Lia (3 years old), and Simone Alexandra (17 years old). The ’Rock’ is proudly saying that he is living with the strong women in his household and that he could not be happier. He says that sometimes is terrifying but that is the way when you have badass women around you.

On the premiere of his new movie Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw, Dwayne Johnson said more about his daughters.
’’It’s just the best thing… I have a house full of just strong, badass women. It is terrifying, but it’s awesome,’’ He has two daughters with his girlfriend Lauren Hashian, and one daughter with his ex-wife Dany Garcia.

’’I grew up an only child,’’ he added. ’’My dad was tough. He kicked my ass, so there was a lot of testosterone growing up. So there is this balance- having all this estrogenic energy- then also me having the opportunity to infuse father and hopefully setting a standard of what a man should be in their lives.’’

He was very excited when his third daughter was born in April 2018 and he said to Jimmy Kimmel on the show. ’’I feel good. I was raised by women all my life, basically. And this is my third daughter. I’m surrounded by estrogen. Bring on the estrogen!’’
In December last year, he posted on Instagram feed cute photo where he was having special moments with his two youngest girls and write a caption. ’’I ain’t gonna be able to hold ’em like this forever, so you better believe I snatch these cookies and love’em up every moment I can.’’

’’Plus, I know there’s gonna come a day where in daddy’s arms is the last place they want to be. Baby Tiana Gia is already there with the ’help me’ look on her face. Can’t guarantee I’ll love and protect all my daughters for the rest of their lives, but I can guarantee I will for the rest of mine.’’

At the premiere of the new movie, Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw Johnson told the press that it was the perfect timing for the new movie because of the excellent chemistry between him and co-star, Jason Statham. The fans also were excited to see a new sequel of the popular movie.

’’And on a personal scale, this movie is deeply personal to me not only because it is a character that I have loved playing and creating over the years in Hobbs, but this is also one of the very first times that I could showcase one of my cultures,’’ he added.
’’I am half black and half Samoan, so to showcase one of my cultures on a massive scale like this, in Hobbs & Shaw… one of the anchoring elements of these movies is family. So for me to be able to cast my real cousin, Roman Reigns.’’

The Rock Promotes Samoan Culture in His New Movie

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most recognizable people in the world today. This forty-seven-year-old comes from a Samoan origin. Recently, he got an opportunity to present some of his cultures on the big screen. The Rock recently stated that was the key thing for him starring in a Fast and furious spin-off “Hobbs & Shaw”.

As you probably know, Dwayne Johnson will appear in “Hobbs & Shaw” alongside Jason Statham from the United Kingdom. These actors come from different cultures and invested their mentalities in this project. The Rock stated that culture was a key factor for this movie to be made, naturally, alongside chemistry between actors.

Johnson stated that Samoan culture didn’t have the opportunity to reach billion people around the globe, that it has with this movie. He stated that he is ecstatic to see something like that happening and that he is involved in this project. He will reprise the role of policeman Luke Hobbs, and Jason Statham will reprise his role of Deckard Shaw.

Today, Jason Statham lives in Los Angeles and he was very happy to return to the United Kingdom, to be a part of a large, blockbuster movie. He said that he loved working in the UK after a really large amount of time. The movie was filmed just outside the Leadenhall`s and Lloyd`s buildings. His character, Deckard Shaw is a typical representative of the people from the United Kingdom.

He drives a British-made, 720S McLaren, which was made in Surrey. He wears an old Saville Row suit, Cleverly shoes, and Budd shirt. The Brits are a majority in the cast of “Hobbs & Shaw”. Alongside Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, you will have the opportunity to see Helen Mirren, Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby, and the movie is going to be directed by David Leitch.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in ‘Songland’ episode inspired by Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

If you didn’t watch any of the previous 6 episodes of Songland songwriting competitions, it’s about a new NBC’s show that is trying to promote talented songwriters and it’s launched on May 28 of this year. Several competitors had the opportunity to show their talent in songwriting and their songs were selected and recorded by well-known musicians and artists.

For example, John Legend, who was a guest judge on the first show, chose “We Need Love”, a song written by Tebby Burrows and song hit the 10th place on the iTunes chart.

source: nbc.com

In addition to this song, Black Eyed Peas (will.i.am) selected “Be Nice” by Adam Friedman, Jonas Brothers chose “Greenlight” by Able Heart, while Darius Coleman’s song “Better Luck Next Time” was selected by Kelsey Ballerini. These were the winners of the previous episodes.

But in the latest episode of the show, the guest judge was Aloe Blacc, and the song written by the winner of the episode would be selected and featured in the upcoming Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw movie. In order to provide support to all contestants, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was surprised when FaceTime wanted them luck and said:

“Our music for Hobbs & Shaw is our soul, and it’s a lifeline of our movie. Thank you so much for sharing your passion. Go out there and have fun. And by the way, the world does not know you – but they’re about to! ”

In addition to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the leading roles in the new movie are played by Jason Statham and Idris Elba.

Given that David Leitch (director of Hobbs & Shaw) and Aloe Blacc are looking for a suitable song that would be featured in the new sequel of the popular franchise, this episode was a great chance for songwriters to show their best and be selected. It looks like this episode was really lucky for them and they chose a song written by Kyle Williams. The name of the new Blacc’s anthem is “Getting Started”.

source: youtube.com

Although the song by Kyle Williams was chosen, it didn’t look like “Getting Started” is going to be a winner. Blacc and Leitch had really positive comments for the song “Chosen” by Afika before. Ester Dean (also a judge in the ‘Songland’ show) had a positive comment on Afika’s song, as well. However, it seems that Leitch and Blacc felt that “Getting Started” fits better for the upcoming blockbuster.
