Excellent Quotes from Jason Statham

“If you’ve got a good imagination, a lot of confidence and you kind of know what you are saying, then you might be able to do it. I know a lot of colorful characters at home that would make great actors.”

“Your body is like a piece of dynamite. You can tap it with a pencil all day, but you’ll never make it explode. You hit it once with a hammer: Bang! Get serious. Do 40 hard minutes, not an hour and half of nonsense. It’s so much more rewarding.”

“I’m used to being efficient and a guy that can do more than the average guy can.”

The Role that ‘The Rock’ Johnson Lost to Tom Cruise

When selecting actors for a particular movie, we believe that producers and directors have a whole procedure that ultimately brings them to the best individual for the role. We believe you all know who is currently the highest paid actor. In case you don’t know, it’s Mr. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. This guy topped the list last year with a whopping $89.4 million.

Now you probably think he’s getting all the roles in the best new movies from Hollywood production. Well, he’s certainly been playing a lot of movies these days, but he reminded us that it wasn’t always that way. Once upon a time, other actors were given the edge.

A few years ago, ‘The Rock’ was very close to getting the role of Jack Reacher in the movie of the same name. Unfortunately, or perhaps to his luck, Johnson did not get that role, but Jack Reacher was portrayed by Tom Cruise. ‘The Rock’ talked about it recently in a Facebook Q&A with his fans. Here’s what he said:

“In Hollywood, actors are kind of like in a box. There are actors that can vie for a particular role because it allows for them to have a certain look, skin color, size, etc.

“Fortunately, for me, there aren’t a lot of guys at all who look like me. So, all of my roles, from the beginning of my career, I’ve been a lucky son of a b***h that they’ve been created and designed for me-except Jack Reacher.

“Now, this was ten years ago, and I was in a much different place, I recognize that. Tom was the biggest movie star in the world, and I was not.”

Dwayne Johnson then went on about the situation:

“I got the call saying ‘Hey, you didn’t get the role’. Look, I didn’t even know if I had a shot for it, but the people around me at that time made me think that I did. I felt like I did, I felt like ‘Why not me?’”

It seems that this moment in his career marked the beginning of the rise of the currently highest paid actor in the world. Shortly after he didn’t get a role in ‘Jack Reacher’, Johnson got a role in a new sequel to the Fast & Furious franchise. It was a Fast Five movie from 2011. It turns out that the new role has brought him much more than ‘The Rock’ would have gotten with Jack Reacher.

He added:

“I said ‘Don’t worry about the money’, I’m doing alright right now. In success, if I create a character the people are going to like and it hits the zeitgeist of the culture in a cool way, the money is going to be there. They said, ‘Absolutely, it’s a deal’.”

Dwayne Johnson’s Alternative Career – What would “The Rock” Do If He Wasn’t an Actor and Ex-Wrestler

Each of us has our own dreams, ideas, and desires we try to achieve in our lives. However, desires are one thing, and reality and fate are a different story. Sometimes, your career can develop in the opposite direction to what you wanted or what it was supposed to be. A great example of what we are talking about is the popular American actor and former wrestler, Dwayne Johnson.

This guy is currently one of the most popular actors on the planet. However, as we said, he built his name above all as a professional wrestler. But what if it wasn’t so, what would it be like to pursue another profession? We will discuss this in more detail below.

Dwayne Johnson’s Alternative Career

So, we believe you all already know that “The Rock” is one of the most popular actors in the world. He is also currently the highest paid actor in Hollywood. What is widely known is that “The Rock” was once a professional wrestler and was truly successful when it came to titles.

Still, one part of his life is relatively unknown to fans. It’s his earlier life. You may think that his time is now, and we must admit that you are right. But Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s path to incredible glory was more than interesting.

Details from Johnson’s earlier period of life may not have been of interest to fans, but that part of life is very important as it has in some way determined his life as it is today. Specifically, Dwayne committed some minor offenses at a young age. Still, from petty crime, he came to studying at Miami University. There he earned a Bachelor Degree in General Studies, a degree in Criminology and Physiology. Crazy, isn’t it?

Playing football for the Miami Hurricanes was also a very important period. The Rock played defensive lineman, which probably helped him later in his wrestling career. Johnson graduated from Miami University in 1995, and it has been many years since. Now, he is a successful actor with many successful rolls in the film industry. For example, there are movies from “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Jumanji” franchise, titles like “Baywatch”, “Rampage”, “Skyscraper”, “The Mummy Returns”, upcoming “Jungle Cruise”, etc. In addition to acting, he was also a producer and executive producer of several of the films mentioned. That has put him among the top 2 highest paid actors over the past two years according to Forbes.

However, we must now return to the beginning of today’s story. Remember, Dwayne Johnson began his career at the University of Miami where he graduated. Given that, he could have been a detective, a cop, etc. He also played football at the university, which means that his career could have developed in that direction. Still, he gained fame as a professional WWE wrestler. This was followed by a great acting and production career that continues. What we can conclude is that his life and career could develop in completely different way, but God had different plans for “The Rock.”

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Deletes Tweet Endorsing Boris Johnson

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, retweeted on Sunday his interview with Good Morning Britain in which the actor was asked about Britain’s new Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He jokingly added, “He’s family!” referencing to his matching the last name with the controversial political figure. “You don’t know that… but now all of Britain knows. Yeah, He’s my cousin. It’s like looking in the mirror. Every time I see Boris!”

Source:news.sky.com

While being on the morning talk show, Johnson was promoting his upcoming film Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw, and on TV, it is obvious that he’s completely joking about being related to the new British PM, who recently came to power after Theresa May stepped down. The 47-year-old star of Moana was laughing hysterically, and so was the show’s host. It was all in good fun.

However, after that, The Rock retweeted the clip and added his own message which seemed to endorse Boris, users on Twitter were quickly concerned. Even though the tweet remained for less than 15 minutes before being deleted, seeing that one of the biggest action movie stars in the world aligned himself with Boris left many in awe.

The thing that certainly didn’t help was that on that same evening, Last Week Tonight returned from its summer hiatus on HBO, and the host John Oliver heavily criticized the Boris in his main segment, and compared him to President Donald Trump. “Unfortunately, the U.K. is about to be completely f***ed,” Oliver said. “Given that Britain’s new leader is a clownish figure with silly hair and a passing relationship with the truth, you may already be thinking of the person you’re almost always thinking about anyway.”

In the message that was quickly deleted, Johnson wrote, “BREAKING: PM Boris Johnson is, in fact, my cousin (though we clearly look more like twins.” — And he should have stopped there. But he added, “Jokes aside, PM did say something in his speech I liked- ‘the people are our bosses. 100% agree. The people/audience/consumer will always matter most. #ourboss”

After the message that was deleted, Johnson quickly came out with an apology. On the edited tweet The Rock wrote, “Well according to the people, maybe we’re not related after all – Big mahalo to my people who I can always rely on to give me the real talk and swift perspective & education on the individual I did not know – Tequila on me, Britain.”

The Responses on Twitter Varied From Alarmist to Playful

Users on Twitter responded differently to Johnson’s PR disaster. While at first, most of his 13.6 million followers were amazed that he would be so kind to such a polarizing political figure, one user begged, “Please don’t normalize Boris,” while others, after the apology, joined in on the laugh. Some even used Johnson’s popular GIF to react.

Epic Car Crashes in ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’

The Fast & Furious spinoff ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ is soon to be released, and we are all looking forward to its release date. However, if you don’t know what to expect from the latest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, there is one thing for certain you can expect epic car chases.

The promotional campaign for the 2019 American action film is going strong, and there have been some very action-packed trailers. These trailers and clips have shown some insights into the movie. Hence, we decided to take a closer look at some of the crazy car chases we’ve seen in the clips. The clips have been a great teaser and have given some extended promo of the car chase sequences.

The first clip features McLaren 720S which rushes through the narrow London streets. The two-seat supercar accommodated Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Vanessa Kirby in it. The scene is enhanced by a futuristic motorcycle ridden by Brixton Lore, the villain played by Idris Elba. The action seems very intense and vigorous, but the scene doesn’t go without a comic part as Hobbs and Shaw can be seen arguing with each other.
Moreover, in the stunt Shaw can be seen driving the McLaren 720S under two semi-trucks. This scene is a homage to a similar stunt in the first film of the Fast & Furious franchise. Then, Brixton follows and climbs off the moving motorcycle which pulls him under the two trucks.

Furthermore, there is a second clip which again features Brixton chasing Hobbs and Shaw. However, in this scene, Shaw is driving a modified buggy while Hobbs is behind the wheel of a custom flatbed truck. Moreover, there has been a recent trailer which featured a scene of modified hot rods chased by a rocket-firing helicopter.

These trailers and clips show that the new Fast & Furious movie will come with plenty of action and epic car chases. The initial release of the ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’ is on August 2. The movie is directed by David Leitch, who is also behind Deadpool 2. The producers include Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Chris Morgan, and Hiram Garcia.

We have new information about Hobbs & Shaw, the Fast & Furious spin-off.
The Rock will come back in the roll of Luke Hobbs in the upcoming movie and last Saturday, on December 1 he shared a pic from the set – a very intense, action packed scene. His companion Vanessa Kirby is in the pic too. You can look up the picture on Dwayne Johnson’s instagram account.

The caption of the picture reads: “On Set. HOBBS & SHAW. They always play hard to catch. The ever chivalrous Hobbs told Hattie Shaw (MI6 operative and overall bad ass played by my homegirl [Vanessa Kirby]) we can do this dance one of two ways. We’ll share some tequila and then you’re under arrest and I’m taking you in or…I’m taking you in. Apparently, she felt the tequila would have to wait. For the record, we closed down the streets of London to shoot this massive action sequence and on the first take [Kirby] here takes off like the second coming of Usain Bolt…WHILE WEARING NO SHOES.”

Back in October, The Rock posted an instagram that was the first look at the movie, and it was a picture of him and Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw) staring at each other with fierce looks on their faces.
