To say gaming is massive is quite an understatement. At the latest estimates, 2.5 billion people around the globe regularly play computer games, while the industry is set to reach a turnover of $257 billion by 2025. With so many new titles and long-established classics to choose from, single players are certainly spoiled for choice, with games to suit every possible taste. When singles meet on a dating site they found out about on a platform like www.animedatings.com their topics of conversation might cover everything from favorite food to the last movie they enjoyed. But another surefire way of breaking the ice is chatting about the most romantic single-player games. Here are five of the most romantic titles for PS4.
Concrete Genie

One of the most compelling aspects of any single-player game is presenting a story line that grabs the imagination. Concrete Genie does this in a simple but highly effective way. Here the play revolves around a young lad, Ash, living in a small town called Denska, which has become polluted. To create some color in this abandoned setting, he doodles in a notebook. However, his journal is stolen by bullies who tear out pages, scattering them. The intriguing twist is that you not only retrieve these, but Ash also discovers a fantastical paintbrush that can bring his doodles to life.
The positive aspect of this game is the way you control Ash, who is a lonely and somewhat introverted teenager, but who finds the strength to fix the corruption in his hometown with new friends, the energetic Genies. As the landscapes are restored the graffiti becomes living portraits – although the battle doesn’t end there as the bullies have the power to kill Ash’s vibrant creations.
What makes this game so compelling is the way Ash triumphs over the delinquents who have ruined the streets, creating vibrant and detailed visuals. There’s enough heart in Ash’s quest to be both inspiring and romantic. If you’re a fan of the Netflix series Stranger Things, you’ll find plenty of reminders in Concrete Genie.
Erica

Erica relies on an intriguing plot to capture the imagination. The central protagonist, Erica Mason (voiced by English actress Holly Earl) is confronting the demons of her past – almost literally – as she tries unraveling the source of nightmares and uncovers links with the occult. The storyline contains many dark elements – the truth behind her father’s murder is painstakingly revealed during her nightmarish visions, and she struggles to identify the culprits. Right at the outset, a younger Erica undertakes an occult ritual with her father and invites her to stare into a fire to gaze into the future: here she sees his dead body, with a weird symbol carved into his chest. When she wakes up screaming, the scene is set for the unfolding quest.
Erica’s plot is captivating, especially in the way you can interact with the unfolding narrative, influencing events in quick-time. Every so often text appears, inviting you to either ‘question’ or ‘cooperate.’ You can also use touchpads to select glowing map areas to help you on your journey. As you drive the story with your decisions, you become truly immersed in the action, interacting with an array of interesting characters.
The Last of Us

Released by Naughty Dog developers, The Last of Us is an action-adventure game that has developed a strong reputation for its memorable narratives, amongst the most vibrant the games world has to offer. Here you control a smuggler, Joel, who is escorting a teenager, Ellie, across post-apocalyptic America, where you have to fend off attacks by marauding hostile humans, and cannibal creatures. You have firearms, but you can also improvise weapons with whatever happens to be to hand. What makes this game so romantic is the way the lead characters have been so vividly brought to life by, respectively, voiceover artists Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson. For another terrific indication of how gripping The Last of Us is, you only have to check out its success story. It has won multiple gaming awards and sold over 1.3 million copies during the week of its release.
If you want to treat yourself to even more of a fix, you can also check out the enhanced PS4 version, The Last of Us Remastered. This added further layers of interactivity to make the gaming experience even more vivid. Players can use the DualShock 4’s touchpad for additional navigation functions, with a light bar signifying health levels, from green (for robust) to red (when damaged.)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Based on a series of fantasy books by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The hero, Geralt, is searching for his lost adopted daughter while being pursued by The Wild Hunt, an otherwordly force. The strength of the narrative will draw you in immediately, and it’s no wonder this title has received widespread acclaim, multiple awards for its design and gameplay. You only have to feast your eyes on the incredibly rich background details to realize this is a game that has created a vibrant fantastical parallel world, pretty unparalleled in games graphics. Not only are the landscapes and buildings realistic, Geralt makes a striking presence as he negotiates these settings by horseback or sail.
Shadow of the Colossus

This game might not have the most romantic overviews – a young man battling various monsters – but he is doing so to restore the life of a mysterious woman, Mono. The protagonist, Wander, enters a foreboding world where he is faced with 16 powerful beasts – colossi – who he must defeat by discovering their weak points. There are no elaborate castle or labyrinthine dungeons, or even other characters to interact with. Instead, there is an incredible sense of tension as Wander battles the monsters in an otherwise tranquil world, against a soundtrack of beautiful music.
Once you become immersed in this fantastical world, you’ll quickly determine why this game is revered by critics and players alike. Everything from the sense of scale as you battle the colossi down to the fascinating storyline makes it a winner.
