Why you should let your child train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Many parents think that letting their child practice martial arts is a bad idea because they will get into fights at school or on the streets if they learn how to “fight.” This is really untrue, and we’re going to explain why. Every martial arts master, sensei or teacher, will always explain that fighting is wrong and should never be done outside of the ring, as the first lesson. I personally trained two martial arts, and every time the first words from my tutor were: “If you fight outside of the gym, never come here again.” And you can be absolutely sure that this will be the case no matter what martial arts gym we’re talking about. Martial Arts are created so that there can be peace, not war. So, you absolutely should not worry about your child becoming problematic due to training. Let’s talk about some more benefits now. First and most important is safety. Knowing that your child knows how to defend if he/she ever finds him/herself in such a situation will make you feel much calmer. Plus, when you join a martial art gym, you make tons of new friends. And those friends will never be some that might potentially “ruin” your child by making them smoke or drink since everyone that trains are living a healthy lifestyle.
