I’d like to talk about an issue that has been dear to me, street harassment. Recently, during a photo shoot I was a victim of provocative glances and insults because of this outfit which was deemed too sexy… I’m regularly harassed in Paris, whether It’s simple insistent glances or insults or persistent following in the street. I’m aware that I’m far from being an isolated case, which is why I wanted to denounce this societal phenomenon, which is tending to become more and more prevalent and seems completely normal in the minds of harassers. Nowadays whistles, insistent looks, insults and gratuitous aggressions are all so common in France and many women live in fear to the point of pulling a cross on the pleasure of getting pretty, no one dares anymore for fear of being judged or abused and many choose to conform their way of dressing. Actually, the simple fact of revealing a little skin, being coquettish, saying no to an invitation or simply being a woman allows you to be attacked in the eyes of some idiots. A large number of women are humiliated and assaulted on a daily basis and this revolts me. I know many Parisian women who have renounced wearing a dress or a skirt, they now dress to blend into the crowd for fear of harassment and aggressions. However, I wanted to point out that many women unconsciously support this growing phenomenon. I have been discriminated against many times on my appearance or way of dressing by women who openly judge with a verbal violence. And I’m sure you’ve already experienced it yourself. Other women, through their silence, accept and aggravate the situation. The woman is a wolf to another woman, it makes me sad! How can we fight this phenomenon if on the other hand some women indirectly support it … We all have flaws, we must learn to accept them and finally love each other. For women together, It’s important to show feminine solidarity and be kind to each other to stop the decline of women’s freedom. I can’t stand by and watch and we must not stand by and watch! #solidaritefeminine #womentogether

Pauline also expresses the feeling that French women are now afraid of getting pretty before leaving home. In fear of being judged or abused, they choose to hide and to comply with certain social conformity.

« I know many Parisian women who have renounced wearing a dress or a skirt, they now dress to blend into the crowd for fear of harassment and aggressions. »

« Actually, the simple fact of revealing a little skin, being coquettish, saying no to an invitation or simply being a woman allows you to be attacked in the eyes of some idiots. »

Not only does Pauline is not only troubled by the harassment of women by men, but she also raises the fingers towards the female gentry who is partly responsible for this phenomenon. “I wanted to point out that many women unconsciously support this growing phenomenon ». She says she has suffered many times discrimination on her appearance and her way of dressing emanating mostly from women who have given themselves the right to openly judge her with verbal violence often times …
