The legendary Hollywood actor Patrick Stewart was the center of attention at the premiere of “Star Trek: Picard,” where he arrived with his 38-years younger wife, Sunny Ozell.
The 79-year-old Patrick has been married to 41-year-old Sunny since 2013. The couple lives in New York and has no children in common. They met in 2008 when Patrick was working on a show called “Macbeth,” and Sunny, who is now a singer and songwriter, was working as a waitress at a nearby New York cafe at the time.

Their wedding got extra attention because they were married by Patrick’s friend and actor Ian McKellen. Specifically, Patrick had hoped the marriage would remain secret, but Ian accidentally revealed the news during an appearance on “The Jonathan Ross Show.” And everything was Sunny’s idea.
“There was only one choice. It was Sunny’s idea, and it was a great idea, and I’m happy to say he said yes, without thought. He may live to regret it! But without hesitation, so we’re delighted”, Patrick said in an interview with Grub Street.

Sunny, however, spoke to Female First a few years ago and admitted that she could not get used to media attention and life under the spotlight, which certainly was sparked due to the huge age difference.
“When something very splashy comes around, like the Emmys or the BAFTAs, I’m still bowled over that a gal from Reno, Nevada, is on the arm of a gent like Patrick Stewart. And frankly, I hope it’s always that way for me,” Sunny admitted.

She continued: “The whole ‘celebrity’ thing only intrudes on our lives when we’re trying to have a relatively normal dinner out. People with their darn phones and their Instagram accounts are relentless, and it’s profoundly obnoxious at times. Besides that, we’re a very normal, loving couple, and we have a great time together.”
By the way, 78-year-old Patrick is five years older than Sunny’s father. In an interview with the Daily Mail, he admitted that he was not overjoyed, but later accepted the idea of her father addressing him as his son-in-law.
“He rings me up and says, ‘Hey son, it’s your father here’,” joked Stewart, who to this day does not hide how much he is in love with his Sunny.
His wife continued and said that the age gap is irrelevant. “He is so youthful, and I guess I’m kind of an old worrywart, so we bridge the gap. It doesn’t come up much. He’s in better shape than me, which infuriates me”, Sunny said.
