Donald Trump sent a message on Twitter to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Sunday about their security arrangements now when they have settled in the U.S. It is still unclear who is going to pay for the couple’s security detail since they moved to California last week. However, President Trump’s Twitter message has given some clarity about him not planning to pick up the bill.
On Sunday, Trump tweeted: “I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”
The royal couple had spent most of their time on Vancouver Island in Canada after they announced their decision to step down as senior working royals earlier this year.
However, it was revealed on Thursday that they had moved to Los Angeles, where Meghan and her mother, Doria, come from. Many of her friends live there as well.
