For traditional monitors, what becomes so vital to note is the graphics, and since the monitor is responsible for providing you a better and high-quality graphics, you must consider cleaning your monitor screen at regular intervals.

Step 1: Turn off the monitor
To start cleaning your monitor, it is usually recommended that you should not start cleaning and wiping it off while it is switched on. This is because, in that case, you will not be able to detect if you could successfully wipe the screen. When the monitor is switched off, it shall be easier for you to detect the dirt and dust sitting on the screen. Not just that, when you are cleaning the screen, and the pixels are firing, there are chances that you will end up damaging the screen. Also, you can get an electric shock. Therefore, you must prefer switching off the LED or LCD monitor before the process.
Step 2: Use a microfiber cleaning cloth
Once the device is switched off, you can use a microfiber cleaning cloth to clean the monitor frame. You should always be doing things gently as it may otherwise cause scratches on your screen. You can even choose to apply a little amount of water and wipe the cloth slowly and gently over the monitor screen. Never use any kind of fancy clothes to clean your monitor, instead, you must use a dry, soft and lint-free cloth.
Step 3: Use a cleaning solution
Do use a mild alkaline solution or spray a small amount of water on the screen only if it is needed. You may choose using isopropyl alcohol if you want. Thus, a spray, a microfibre cloth, compressed air, and an old toothbrush are more than enough to keep your computer clean. Besides, they won’t be costing you much, so you will have both your wallet filled as well as get your monitor cleaned.
Cleaning the monitor is quite similar to that of cleaning your eyeglasses. If you are trying to prepare a cleaning solution right at your home, you can either choose to prepare a mixture of vinegar and water in the proportion of 1:1. After that, you can even opt for making a foam water mixture by using a small pinch of dishwash and adding it to the water.
Caution: Be sure that the cleaning solution you are using is on the cloth. Do not spray the cleaning solution on the screen directly. Also, do not use the solutions that contain acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride.
Step 4: Clean the other parts of the monitor
Cleaning the screen is not sufficient since you would need to clean the casing, base and the back of the monitor as well. You can rub the cloth on the frame a little more than usual to remove the grimes, all due to its durability unlike that of the screen. Use either your fingers or an earbud to clean the crevices of the monitor that is usually hard to reach.
Note: Another important thing to note while cleaning your monitor is that you must use dampen cloth or fibre, not a paper towel as it can easily scratch the screen or strip the anti-glare coating off the screen and cause permanent damage. Besides, you must wipe the screen only in one direction while cleaning it, else it will create scratches on your screen.
