Dan Blankenship, The legend of treasure hunting has sadly passed away at the age of 95. He was one of the main roles on the hit TV show The Curse of Oak Island.

He spends 50 years of his life looking for treasures and investigating mysteries on the well-known island.

He had many people that were fans of him and the History show. He was frequently seen giving advice to the brothers Marty and Rick Lagina. According to Viebly.com the siblings are still looking for the treasure on the Oak Island.

Dan Blankenship passed away from natural causes on March 17. His death was confirmed by Oak Island Tours Inc.

History also released a statement: “We are saddened by the loss of Dan Blankenship. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.”

He has been on Oak Island since the 60s which was when him, Robert Tobias, Robert Dunifield and Fred Nolan created a syndicate together.

He was a regular on the popular show The Curse of Oak Island, One item he found played a big role in the current season, and he also did important work in the Money Pit area. He turned 95 in May of last year.
