When scientists analyzed viruses similar to coronavirus, such as SARS and MERS, they came to the conclusion that these viruses can survive up to nine days on surfaces like glass, plastic, or metal. More specifically, these viruses can be contagious on these surfaces. The temperature between 30 and 40 degrees decreases its infectiveness. An interesting fact is that coronavirus couldn’t be destroyed by typical household cleaning products. Only the bleach was able to destroy it in one minute. However, washing your hands is better than disinfection.

The studies show that water and soap work more effectively than washing gels. The gels used for disinfection must contain at least 60% alcohol. However, using too much disinfection isn’t right as well.
According to doctors, handwashing with soap and water is still the best way to prevent transmission of the virus.
The reason for that is that the novel coronavirus is thought to spread primarily by people and their respiratory droplets.
