Burt Reynolds was born as Burton Leon Reynolds Junior. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on the eleventh of February 1936. His father worked for the army, but later became chief of police. His mother was a nurse and she encouraged her son to read and improve his education over and over again. He attended Florida State University where he received a football scholarship. At some point in his education, he was drafted to play for Baltimore Colts.

However, he suffered an injury that ended his football career. This occurrence marked his change of career that pointed him to pursue an acting career. He was awarded a scholarship on “Hyde Park Playhouse”. At one point in his career, he filed for bankruptcy, which occurred several years after he divorced Anderson.
