Mark Moyar

Director of the FPI Center for Military and Diplomatic History

Dr. Mark Moyar is the Director of the Center for Military and Diplomatic History, a program of the Foreign Policy Initiative that opened its doors in July 2016. Educated as a military and diplomatic historian, he is also a thought leader in current national security affairs, international development, foreign aid, and capacity building, his research acclaimed for its innovative insights and its marshaling of evidence against conventional wisdom. From his base in Washington, DC, he serves as a consultant, author, speaker, educator, and strategist around the world. He holds a B.A. summa cum laude from Harvard and a Ph.D. from Cambridge.
